Powerful story about two child activists who continued their message in spite of threats. Iqbal was murdered at the age of twelve for speaking out against child labor in Pakistan. Malala was shot in the head at age 15, and survived to continue speaking her message. Beautiful illustrations, and a simple text that gives an honest I loved the format of this biography about two kids from Pakistan who spoke out for the rights of other kids. The pictures are simple but the story is big. It's easy enough for the littler kids but will send the bigger kids scurrying to do research. This one is coming to live in my library, for sure. This is another great book to add to a growing list of picture books highlighting young people around the world who are changing the world. Jeannette Winter shares a but about the lives of Iqbal and Malala with the focus on their bravery and the fact that they took a stand and acted even though they were young. These two stories will...
