More About Knots Untied: Being Plain Statements on Disputed Points in Religion from the Standpoint of an Evangelical Churchman
You may spoil the Gospel by interposition. You have only push something between Christ and the eye of the soul, to draw away the sinners attention from the Saviour, and the mischief is done. Interpose anything between man and Christ, and man will neglect Christ for the thing interposed! Do this, either directly or indirectly, and your religion ceases to be Evangelical. J.C. JC Ryle (the Evangelical Bishop) writes against the catholic trend within the Church of England and explains the proper place of The Prayer book, the faith and worship. A good read. Read this book over a year ago and skimmed through it again this week. Ryle is always a pleasure to read and writes with amazing clarity and conviction. Great.
