More About Buddhist Women and Social Justice: Ideals, Challenges, and Achievements
A good book on Buddism and Gender. Some shocking stories. I learned about Buddhist nuns and laywomen from various counties, their struggles and triumphs. There were two different interpretations of how the Buddha began to accept nuns in his community. It is helpful to see that there are various interpretations of that story. Interesting topics and ground breaking works. But the research methods as well as activists approach are sporatic, not good enough to challenge the strong patriarcal system. I could do better.
